KOHAT: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested eight accused during a crackdown against the electricity thieves in Kohat on Wednesday.
Launched on the directives of federal interior minister, the personnel of FIA Kohat Zone conducted raids in various areas, including Muslimabad, KDA, Bannu Bazaar, Mall Mandi, and others, and arrested eight power pilferers while registered 12 cases against the accused involved in electricity theft.
The accused were identified as Rahimullah, Ibrahim Khan, Ihsanullah, Ahmad, Muhammad Aslam, Hayatullah, Abdul Hamid and Samiuddin.Initial investigation suggested that electricity was being stolen through direct hook or illegal connection or tampering with the power meters by owners of tubewells, homes, hostels, shops, and offices, which incurred huge losses on the national kitty.
