By-polls: UET to remain closed till 23rd
LAHORE: University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore will remain closed till April 23, 2024 (Tuesday) on account of by-election on different provincial assembly seats of the provincial metropolis.
As per the notification issued by the UET, the physical classes/teaching will remain closed at Main Campus and New Campus till Tuesday April 23, 2024 as per the instructions of the Punjab government. The departments at Main Campus and New Campus will arrange online classes from Sunday April 21 (for weekend programmes) to Tuesday April 23 (all programmes). The hostels at Main Campus will also remain completely closed with immediate effect. The hostel residents (except foreign students) will vacate their rooms.
The notification did not mention the by-election but a UET spokesperson said that the closure was in the wake of polling for the by-election to be held on Sunday (today).
