KARACHI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Pepsi Cricket Stars U16 Two-Day tournament 2016 begins from Saturday (tomorrow) at venues in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Multan and Gujranwala.
A total of 16 regional teams will take part in the tournament. Except the final which will be a three-day affair, all matches will be of two days.
Pool A consists of Karachi, Quetta, Hyderabad, Rawalpindi and Multan. These teams will play their matches in Karachi.
Islamabad, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Abbottabad and Larkana constitute Pool B and will play their matches in Islamabad.
Pool C consists of Lahore, Sialkot, Dera Murad Jamali, AJK, FATA and Bahawalpur. These teams will play their matches in Lahore.
One top team from each pool will qualify for Pool D and top two teams from Pool D will qualify for the final. Three matches of Pool D will be played at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, Multan Stadium, Multan, and Jinnah Stadium, Gujranwala.
The final of the tournament will be played from June 1-3 2016 at Gaddafi Stadium.
The teams have been selected after open trials at regional level under the NCA youth development programme.
