WCLA gets control of Wazir Khan Bara Dari
LAHORE: Control of Wazir Khan Bara Dari was handed over to the Walled City of Lahore Authority here on Monday.
Wazir Khan Bara Dari was earlier under the control of Government Punjab Public Library, Lahore. This important decision was taken in view of the historical status of Bara Dari. The Walled City of Lahore Authority is carrying out renovation works in this building to make it safe for future generations and to promote tourism.
The Director General Public Libraries Punjab Lahore, Chief Librarian, Quaid -e-Azam Library, Bagh-i-Jinnah, Lahore and The Director Archive and Libraries wing, & GAD Secretary Welfare held a meeting with Director General Walled City, Kamran Lashari.
In this meeting, repair and restoration of Anarkali tomb was entrusted to the Walled City Authority so that in the future, a common plan can be set up for the proper use of this building and the promotion of tourism.
