LAHORE:A five-year-old girl was hit to death by a speeding tractor trolley in the Gulshan Ravi area on Sunday.
The girl identified as Noor Fatima fell under the tracker-trolley while playing in the area, resulting in her instant death. The police arrested the tractor driver and impounded the tractor-trolley.
68 arrested for violating Anti-Kite Flying Act
Around 63 cases were registered and 68 people were arrested for violating the Anti-Kite Flying Act across the province during the last 24 hours. Around 1,198 kites and 64 metallic string wheels were recovered from the possession of the accused. At least 2,320 cases were registered and 2,479 people were arrested since February 26.
Five dead in road accidents
Around five persons died and 1,223 injured in 1,103 road accidents in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Out of these, 568 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 655 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue medical teams.
Girl commits suicide
A young 18-year-old girl ended her life by consuming a poisonous substance in the Batapur police area on Sunday. The victim was a resident of Tera village, Batapur. The local police reported that the girl ingested the toxic substance for reasons yet to be determined. Upon discovery, she was promptly transported to the hospital while in an unconscious state. Despite efforts to save her, tragically, she did not survive. Body was shifted to the mortuary.
