LAHORE: Interior Minister and PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi commemorated Pakistan Day by paying homage to the founding fathers and urging citizens to uphold the spirit of independence and called for a wide-ranging plan for the development of the sport.

Naqvi also called for a comprehensive strategy for the promotion of cricket in Pakistan. During an important meeting with the directors of the PCB, he emphasized the need to enhance resources and facilities at the National Cricket Academy and to develop a revenue generation plan for the PCB. Additionally, he discussed initiatives to make the Pakistan Super League (PSL) more engaging and to introduce a PSL for women cricketers.

Naqvi underscored the importance of devising a comprehensive strategy for the promotion of cricket in Pakistan. Emphasizing the need for strategic planning, Naqvi highlighted key areas of focus to enhance the growth and development of cricket across the country.

One of the primary objectives outlined by Minister Naqvi was the enhancement of resources and facilities at the NCA. Recognizing the pivotal role of the NCA in nurturing and grooming cricketing talent, Minister Naqvi stressed the importance of providing state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure to aspiring cricketers. By investing in the NCA, Naqvi aims to ensure that promising young players have access to top-notch training and coaching, thereby strengthening the talent pool for the national team.

Furthermore, Naqvi emphasized the need to develop a robust revenue generation plan for the PCB. Acknowledging the financial challenges faced by the cricket board, Naqvi called for innovative strategies to maximize revenue streams and ensure the financial sustainability of the PCB. By diversifying revenue sources and exploring new avenues for income generation, Minister Naqvi aims to bolster the financial health of the PCB, enabling it to invest more resources in the development of cricket at all levels.
