Minority students to be equipped with higher education, says Arora
Punjab Minister for Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Sohail Shaukat Butt Friday vowed to empower women
LAHORE:A delegation of bishops called on Provincial Minister for Minorities Ramesh Singh Arora in his camp office on Friday.
The bishops congratulated Ramesh Singh Arora on assuming charge as provincial minister minorities and expressed best wishes for him for his future tasks. The provincial minister emphasised the significance of education and assured that all possible measures will be taken to equip youth of minorities with higher education.
Arora thanked the delegation and said that the services of the bishops have always been unique in the development of country. He said that the youth should be given more opportunities in health and education sector. He emphasised that there is a need to raise the awareness of education among minorities and in this regard, the cooperation and valuable experience of bishops could prove to be very helpful. The minister said that the doors of his office will always be open for all of you and the problems faced by religious minorities will be resolved through collective efforts. He assured the delegation that the PMLN leadership would solve their problems on priority basis.
Alexander John Malik, Emeritus, Bishop of Lahore Nadeem Kamran, Irfan Jameel, Secretary Lahore Diocese Samina Bhatti, MPA Anthony Ejaz Lemuel and Pastor Zaman Sultan were the members of the delegation.

Attending a briefing by Director General Women Protection Authority Irshad Waheed on services provided by the authority, administrative matters and laws established for women's protection, the minister said ensuring a secure environment for women in economic, societal, and social spheres is our mission.
