Suspect held while trying to flee after robbing actress

The Model Colony police on Sunday arrested a suspect in an injured state following an encounter when the suspect along with his accomplice were trying to flee after robbing a drama artiste.

Police explained that after the encounter, one of the robbers was apprehended in an injured state and the other managed to escape. According to the police, the encounter took place near a railway crossing in Model Colony. The arrested suspect was identified as Shehzad. Police claimed to have seized a weapon and stolen items from his possession.

The suspects had robbed actress Jaweria Nasir and were attempting to flee when the police intervened. The actress stated that the police had recovered four bangles, a mobile phone and cash that were stolen from her. Police said a case had been registered and further investigations were under way.
