35 girls to feature in Women’s Day Weightlifting event
LAHORE : The Pakistan Weightlifting Federation (PWLF) is organising the Women’s Day Invitational Weightlifting Tournament 2024 at Railway Stadium, Garhi Shahu on Sunday (today).
Media Coordinator PWLF Sohail Javed Butt informed that the competition will witness the participation of over 35 female weightlifters from Lahore district. Former international weightlifter Aqeel Javed Butt will serve as the organizing secretary for the event. President PWLF Hafiz Imran Butt will inaugurate the tournament while Vice President Railways Sports Board Hamdan Nazir will be chief guest for the event. The tournament will feature three teams and the participating weightlifters include prominent names such as Iman
Fatima, Farkhanda Mustafa, Laraib Kamal, Muniba Imtiaz, Shahzade Nazar, Maskan
Patras, Fatima Saher, Amina Sharif, Iraf Fatima, Ayesha Aslam and Hira Niaz from the National Weightlifting Club at Punjab Stadium. Zara Zubair, Neelam Riaz, Saima Shehzad, Sonia Azmat, Sheetal Asif, Nida Fatima, Noor Fatima, Madeeha Zubair, Sehar Shafiq, Arfa Mushtaq, Safa
Fatima, Zainab, Rida, Fiza and Maliaka Dawood from the Brave Heart Weightlifting Academy; and Anam Iqbal, Kiran Iqbal and Noor Tahir from Rashid Minhas Weightlifting Gym. Khadija Yusuf from the University Ground Chauburji Club will also be showcasing her skills.
