121 industries set up stalls in UET career fair

LAHORE:In order to provide opportunities to students for gainful employment as well as to strengthen its partnership with existing and prospective employers, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore hosted its annual Career Fair 2024 here on Thursday.

UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Nasir Hayat inaugurated the event and visited all the stalls of companies / Industries along with Convener Career Fair Prof Dr Naveed Ramzan and Coordinator Prof Dr Asif Ali Qaiser. This year about 121 Industries with 187 stalls participated in the event. The companies were from the discipline of software and IT, Chemical and Polymer, Textile, Construction, Mechanical, Steel, educational consultant, etc. Different organisations conducted the interviews, tests and orientation sessions and also made job offers on the spot. Around 15,000 students visited the event. Prof Dr Nasir Hayat appreciated the efforts of Prof Dr Naveed Ramzan, Prof Dr Asif Ali Qaiser and other members of the organising team. including staff and students.

Moot on pharma advancements

Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood inaugurated a collaborative conference as part of Pak Pharma Expo at Expo Centre on Thursday. In the event, the Punjab University’s College of Pharmacy (PUCP) brought together key players in the pharmaceutical industry to showcase the latest advancements and techniques to foster collaborations between academia and industry. PUCP Principal Prof Dr Syed Atif Raza, pharmacists, industrialists and others were also present.

The event drew a diverse audience, including industrialists who reconnected with their alma mater by signing letter of understanding between PUCP and their respective industries for research collaboration and support.
