Islamabad:The one-day automotive extravaganza held at The Centaurus Mall, in collaboration with Hazara Automotive & Cars of Pakistan, marking a remarkable success for the automotive community in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The event, attended by esteemed dignitaries including chief guest Dr. Akbar Nasir (IG Islamabad) and Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari (President ICCI), witnessed a convergence of over 800 cars spanning various categories, from vintage classics to state-of-the-art SUVs, captivating enthusiasts from across Pakistan.
Senior vice president of Sardar Group Sardar Dr. Rashid Ilyas Khan, extended his heartfelt gratitude to management and the organising team for their exceptional efforts in making the auto show a resounding success. He expressed his delight at the overwhelming response, with an impressive turnout of over 150,000 individuals, showcasing the profound love and enthusiasm of the Pakistani people for the automotive industry. Highlighting Pakistan's substantial automotive market potential, he emphasised the urgent need for local manufacturing infrastructure to cater to the demands of the burgeoning consumer base.
In his address, Dr. Rashid Ilyas Khan advocated for the establishment of more manufacturing plants within Pakistan, stressing the importance of fostering competition through the issuance of NOCs to new market entrants. He underscored the transformative impact of expanding manufacturing capabilities beyond mere assembly units, citing the potential to drive down vehicle prices, create employment opportunities, and enhance export prospects.
