PPP to form govt in Balochistan: Sarfraz Bugti
Sarfraz Bugti said despite reservation about the elections, the PPP has accepted the results
ISLAMABAD: Senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sarfraz Bugti on Saturday announced that the PPP will form the coalition government in Balochistan.
“We will form the provincial government in Balochistan with the support of our allies as we have sufficient numbers. Also, PMLN has provided support in Balochistan and will be with us in the cabinet,” he said while addressing a press conference here Sunday along with the newly-elected members from Balochistan.
Sarfraz Bugti said that there are six independent members who are in touch with the party leadership. “We are in touch with them and they will soon be a part of PPP.”
To a question, Sarfraz Bugti said the decision about the chief minister has to be taken by the party leadership. “We have eleven elected members and any of them can be CM,” he said. He said the PPP is a party of the Federation and that was why it won in all the four provinces.
Sarfraz Bugti said despite reservation about the elections, the PPP has accepted the results. “Our candidates also suffered unexpected losses in various constituencies,” he said.
He said the PPP has got the mandate in Balochistan and nationalist parties faced internal differences before.
To a question, he asked what security agencies had to do with elections. “Those who succeeded did not succeed for the first time. The forums as per the Constitution should be approached if there are concerns,” he said.
Newly-elected MNA Haji Malik Shah Gureg said that if there was no army, Baloch people know what the situation would be. “Balochistan is safe because of Pakistan Army,” he said. Zahoor Buledi said that losers always talked of rigging.
Sarbaland Jogezai said the statement made by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on the occasion of the party foundation day made the youth vote for PPP in Balochistan. He said the people of Balochistan have rejected Akhtar Mengal.
