TIMERGARA: A young man injured in the Shago Kas bomb blast succumbed to wounds at a hospital in Peshawar on Monday, raising the death toll to two.
Abdul Basit, 17, son of Zar Kamin, a resident of Arang area in Bajaur district and currently residing in Shago Kas near Timergara, was caught in a blast on Sunday. The blast killed a 4-year old son of Zar Kamin on the spot while his second son Abdul Basit sustained injuries along with three others including Zakir, 15, Nizamuddin, 19 and Sudais, 11 on the bank of River Panjkora.
Abdul Basit, a student of grade-10, was laid to rest near his house in Shago Kas near Timergara, Lower Dir.On February 5, a bomb disposal unit official was martyred and another injured when an explosive device went off while they were defusing it in the same area. DC Dir Lower Wasil Khan visited the house of bomb blast victims along with District Police Officer Ziauddin Ahmed and expressed deep sorrow over the incident.
The residents and the families of the victims demanded of the quarters concerned to clear the area of explosives and to include the victims of the blast in the martyrs’ package, besides providing best treatment to those injured.
