‘Pakistan, Jordanshould benefit from each other’s experiences against terrorism’

RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, who is on an official visit to Jordan, called on King Abdullah II at the king’s palace in Amman on Tuesday. While witnessing a field exercise of the Jordanian Special Operations Forces, General Raheel Sharif said that both Pakistan and Jordan should share and benefit from each other’s experience in the fight against terrorism.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters of mutual interest, including enhanced defence and security collaboration and regional security situation in the Middle East, came under discussion during the COAS’ meeting with King Abdullah, reported Geo News.

Both leaders agreed that Pakistan and Jordan share a great history of cordial relations and deep-rooted spirit of brotherhood, which was transforming into an enduring partnership, said the statement.

King Abdullah appreciated the Pakistan Army’s achievements in the fight against terrorism and efforts to promote regional peace and stability.

Meanwhile, General Raheel Sharif witnessed field exercises of Jordanian Special Operations Forces at the King Abdullah Special Operations training center. The COAS vowed to share and benefit from each other’s experiences in counter terrorism operations.General Raheel appreciated the state-of-the-art training facility and exchanged views with the exercise participants.
