39 more PTI workers arrested over Teen Talwar violence

The District South police have arrested 39 more workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in connection with rioting, violence against police and vandalism of government vehicles in the Teen Talwar area of the Clifton neighbourhood a few days ago, with the total number of arrested PTI workers now at 72.

According to the District South police spokesperson, the suspects were identified through digital evidence obtained at the scene, saying that they were arrested from different areas of Karachi.

On Sunday the police had arrested 15 workers, on Tuesday 18 more and now another 39. The spokesperson said that the arrests were made under an FIR registered at the Frere police station, adding that further arrests are under way in this regard.

Among the suspects arrested on Wednesday were Salman, Khalid Saeed, Fazal Gul, Ayaz Khan, Asif Saboor, Abdul Wahid, Abdul Ghani, Sahil Ahmed, Malik Azad, Saif Basit, Kamran Imtiaz, Ahmed Niaz, Tanveer Rafiq, Wasim Ahmed, Abbas Nawaz, Arshad Mumtaz, Aamir Sarwar, Rehan Luqman, Hassan Saleem and Asif Qasim Hussain.

Naeem Qadir, Osama Qureshi, Shaheryar, Habib Khan, Bashir Ahmed, Aziz Nasir, Ubaid Nasir, Mazhar Akhtar, Shahzad Khan, Rameez Majid, Anwar Hussain Khan, Salman Ayaz, Fazal Amin, Sajid Abdul Hameed, Bilal Taj, Owais Iqbal, Ahmed Rehmat, Faheem and Raja Azeem were also arrested.

The spokesperson said that under FIR No. 31/2024 registered at the Frere police station, a total of 72 suspects have been arrested so far, with further arrests under way.
