UK must stop Altaf from giving statements: Nisar
Holds meeting with British high commissioner; hands copy of FIR registered against

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has asked the United Kingdom (UK) to stop its citizen, Altaf Hussain, from giving objectionable statements.
Ch Nisar met British High Commissioner Philip Barton here on Wednesday.During the meeting, Nisar also handed Barton over a copy of the FIR which was registered against Altaf Hussain earlier.
The interior minister and British high commissioner also discussed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interests.They also exchanged views on the country’s political situation and reviewed matters pertaining to a case filed against the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
According to sources, Nisar also shared with Philip Barton details and the reasons for the case against the MQM chief.Earlier on Tuesday, a case was registered against Altaf Hussain on the complaint of the Rangers for allegedly threatening the law enforcement personnel and issuing insulting remarks during a telephonic interview from London.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also held a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here at the Punjab House and discussed the incident in Youhanabad.They decided to take strict action against those who had burnt two persons alive and damaged the public property. Strict action will also be taken against any police personnel found involved in the incident.
Meanwhile, presiding over a high-level meeting, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar directed the Islamabad administration to ensure foolproof security arrangements on the occasion of 23rd March Pakistan Day Parade of the armed forces.
The meeting was attendedby commissioners of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, IGP Islamabad, CCPO Rawalpindi and other senior officials. The minister gave clear instructions that no shortcoming in the security arrangements would be tolerated.
At the same time, Nisar said that common citizens should also be facilitated so that they should not suffer. He also appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the authorities.During the meeting, Nisar was briefed on the arrangements made for the parade. He was told that certain portions of the Islamabad Expressway would be closed down for three days and traffic would be diverted to alternative routes.
Nisar told the participants that the citizens should be kept informed about the alternative routes through the media. He also asked them to keep close contact with the military authorities for the parade.
