WANA: Independent candidate Maulana Mehmood Alam Wazir kicked off his election campaign from Wana Bazaar for the South Waziristan Lower and Upper constituency NA-42 here on Sunday.
Addressing tribal elders, Ulema, and youths, Maulana Mehmood Alam, an Ahmadzai Wazir, said he would not compromise on collective rights and legitimate demands the area tribes.Highlighting the need for addressing the challenges faced by the Wazir tribesmen in South Waziristan, Mehmood Alam criticised the previous government’s decision to divide South Waziristan into two districts. He pointed out that the slow bifurcation process had resulted in severe difficulties for tribal elders.
He said he would not withdraw from the electoral race, nor compromise on national interests.During the event, tribal elder Maulana Abdul Ali Wazir announced his support for Maulana Mahmood Alam Wazir and pledged to work tirelessly to ensure his victory.Other elders also showed their support for Mahmood Alam Wazir, stating that his victory was theirs.
