ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid on Saturday said that the terrorists would be eliminated wherever they are.
Talking to media persons here, he said a clear line had been drawn and criminals were on one side of the line while the law enforcement agencies, army, political parties, media and the people were on the other.
The minister said the nation was united and all the political parties, law enforcement agencies and the armed forces are on the same page on the issue of terrorism.
He said the government was determined to eliminate terrorists and criminal elements from the society without discrimination.
Pervaiz said a terrorist was a terrorist irrespective of his/her political affiliation.
He said it is our commitment that the country will be rid of this menace once and for all and we will make Pakistan a safe place.
Whoever committed a crime would be treated as a criminal and punished, he said. No criminal would be spared, he added.
Paying glowing tributes to the martyrs of the Peshawar school tragedy, he said the entire nation will always remember their sacrifice.
Meanwhile, in a press statement, Pervaiz Rashid said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan could not prove even a single bogus vote despite his continuous hue and cry over the last two years.
He said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had voted for Imran Khan to address their problems, not to run a TV circus.
“The next general elections will be held in 2018 on the basis of performance,” he noted, adding that elections won’t be contested through fiery speeches.
He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has decided to make Karachi clean from crimes.
