LMIS introduced to monitor PR land

LAHORE : Pakistan Railways (PR) has introduced Land Management Information System (LMIS) for better monitoring and Continued on page 14 to get full benefits from railway land.

The System has been developed under the direction of Secretary/Chairman PR Syed Mazhar Ali Shah.

A presentation in this regard was given on the land-related system in the committee room of the Divisional Superintendent Railway Lahore office, in which Deputy Director Property and Land Headquarters Mubasher Afridi and GIS Assistant Arooj Kanwal on behalf of the Headquarters Land Directorate team were present on the occasion.

Director Property and Land Riaz Mehmood Lashari, Divisional Executive Engineers M Jamshed Ali, Haji M, Assistant Executive Engineers of Lahore Division, Inspector of Works and Permanent Way Inspectors also participated.

Regarding the LMIS, DS Railway M Hanif Gul said full benefits will be obtained from the System and it will also help monitor the railway land.

Moreover, during the briefing, it was informed that this system will also help in the security of railway land including preventing encroachment and the lease agreements will also be systematically monitored.

Apart from this, the history of leased contracts can also be viewed through the system and railway land records including maps from the LMIS will be compiled in a better way.
