Ray of hope

For the first time in its political history, a Hindu woman – Dr Saveera Parkash – is going to contest elections in Buner, in a move to break the stereotype. This points to a new hopeful era of women’s empowerment. It is interesting to note that Dr Parkash – a PPP ticket holder – will contest in an area where there is least participation of women as voters.
It definitely heralds a major political transformation where there’s hope for an end to dynastic and partisan politics. This step will rope in more women to the electoral arena of Buner. Though the voyage is no pleasure cruise, let’s be optimistic about her courage to sail through.
