MANSEHRA: The Local Government representatives on Sunday demanded the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa finance department to release development and non-development funds to village, neighbourhood and tehsil councils across the province.
“Two years have passed since the local governments were installed in the province, but we are still without all sorts of funds and governance,” Javed Sikandar, the peasant member of Nimal Fateh-i-Bandi Village Council, told reporters in Oghi.
Flanked by a group of councillors, he said the local government elections were held by the order of the apex court some two years ago across the province and since then they could only take the oath of their offices during the entire period.
