ALPURI: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders here on Friday expressed reservations about the delimitation of the constituencies in Shangla and announced to move the court against it.
Speaking at a press conference, PTI local leader Waqar Ahmad Khan, who was accompanied by the local government representatives and party candidates for the upcoming general election, said the delimitation of constituencies was not correct keeping in view the geography of the remote Shangla district.
Accusing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz provincial President Amir Muqam of gerrymandering, he said that the PTI would move the court against the delimitation of the constituencies for Shangla district. He alleged that Amir Muqam was conspiring to pave the way for rigging in Shangla in the next general election, adding that the PTI would mobilize its workers to take to the streets to record their protest.
He alleged that the delimitation was carried out to favour a certain political party, which was not acceptable to them. He said that the PMLN was holding political activities while the PTI was not being allowed to run its election campaign.
The PTI leader asked the Election Commission of Pakistan to take notice of the situation. He said that the PTI had executed record uplift projects in Shangla and its popularity was increasing with each passing day. He said the PTI was being pushed to the wall and its workers were being harassed through various tactics.
