UAE, Pakistan have entered into new era of economic cooperation: CG

KARACHI: United Arab Emirates Consul General in Karachi Bakheet Ateeq Al-Remeithi has said the UAE and Pakistan have entered into a new era of economic cooperation.
In a special message, he said that as per the vision of the UAE’s founding leader, his country is committed to continuous cooperation with Pakistan in all spheres. We are immensely happy that Pakistan has assured us of a more conducive business environment and facilities for UAE investors, he added.
The consul general maintained that both countries have inked memorandum of understandings for collaboration in investment in the fields of energy, port operations projects, waste water treatment, food security, logistics, mining, and banking and financial services.
Furthermore, he said investors from the UAE real estate sector are showing keen interest in investments in Pakistan, and lately a delegation met the chairman and office-bearers of the Association of Builders and Developers to this effect.
The diplomat said that as per the agreements, the UAE would invest between $20 and $25 billion in various sectors in Pakistan, which would pave the way for economic stability in the country. He added that the Special Investment Facilitation Council will play a crucial role in the completion of various initiatives.The prime minister has described the signing of the MoUs as a historic step, marking the beginning of a new era of economic partnership between Pakistan and the UAE. The consul general emphasised that the two countries shared deep and historical fraternal ties, which have withstood the test of time, reiterating his commitment to strengthening these relations through strategic cooperation and dialogue.
