‘Society, nationhood crucial for state’

LAHORE : Punjab University’s Institute of Social and Cultural Studies (ISCS) organised a seminar “Society, State and Nationhood in the 21st Century” on Saturday.
Director ISCS Prof Dr Rubeena Zakar, noted author Tahir Mehmood, faculty members and a large number of students were present on this occasion. Dr Rubeena, in her address, highlighted the importance of the topic. In his keynote address, Tahir Mehmood shed light on the topic and said that society and nationhood were crucial for a state. He said that assumptions could not change reality and personal biases, unequal distribution of resources were challenges to our nationhood. He said that the future belongs to the youth and Pakistan was lucky to have diversely fertilised land.
