MULTAN: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the Wiki and Panama Leaks have proved that the religious class is clean and transparent and there is no need to take a certificate of patriotism in this regard.

He expressed these views while addressing the Istehkam-e-Madaris and Pakistan Conference in Shujabad on Saturday. He said that corruption and terrorism took birth not from the madaris but somewhere else. He said that baseless propaganda was being carried out against them and some people have condemned themselves by levelling false allegations against madaris.

Maulana Fazl said that the ball of the withdrawal of the Women’s Protection Act was in the government’s court. He said that our rulers were launching an operation against the madaris after being impressed by world propaganda against them. He vowed that every conspiracy would be checked in a parliamentary manner. He said that none other than Islam can furnish better rights to women. He termed the approved bill on women in the Punjab Assembly as a conspiracy against the country and nation.

The JUI-F chief said that it was tantamount to weaken the foundations of the country to talk about making the country liberal and the government should change its thinking in this regard.

Resolutions regarding operations against madaris, the Ulema, withdrawal of the Women’s Protection Act and abolition of interest were endorsed during the conference. Maulana Zubairi, Jamshad Dasti and other leaders also addressed the conference.
