Militant killed, three held in Bannu clash
Two Khassadar personnel injured in Jamrud bombing

BANNU: An alleged militant was killed while three others were arrested during a clash with security forces near a gas station on the Bannu-Kohat Road here on Sunday, sources said.
The sources said the personnel of security forces and intelligence agencies were patrolling the area when four militants attacked them with a hand-grenade near the gas station on the Kohat Road, but the soldiers escaped unhurt in the attack.
The sources said the soldiers returned the fire in which one of the militants was killed on the spot while three others escaped.Following the attack, the personnel of security forces and law-enforcement agencies arrested the three men during a search operation carried out in the locality.
An official said that a suicide vest was also found from the spot and was defused by the bomb disposal unit. The militant’s body was shifted to the Combined Military Hospital in Bannu. The detained militants, including one who was injured, were shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
