Unsung heroes

According to media reports, a lady health worker was shot and wounded by four assailants on motorcycles while she along with her sister was returning home after administering polio drops to children in the Korejo village of Garhi Yasin taluka in the Larkana district. We must salute the brave and poor health workers who put their lives at risk to undertake this task against a meagre amount of around Rs100 per day.

We should salute these unsung heroes and the federal and provincial governments should adequately compensate the families of the deceased workers and also take foolproof security measures to protect them while they work.
