PESHAWAR: Ten persons were killed and four others injured in rain-related incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) on Friday.
Seven persons, including five children and two women, were killed when roof of their house collapsed at Momi Rogha village of Manzarkhel area of North Waziristan’s remote Dattakhel subdivision.
The government officials said the roof caved in due to continuous heavy rain ?in North Waziristan Agency.They said local residents later retrieved bodies of five children and two women from the rubble of the collapsed house in Dattakhel, 45 kilometres west of North Waziristan’s headquarters Miranshah.
CHARSADDA: Three persons were killed and four others injured in rain-related incidents in Charsadda district, police said.They said one woman Zahida and her son Umair were killed while another woman was injured when the roof of a house in Sho Daag in Tangi tehsil caved in. The injured woman was taken to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar. A man identified as Abdur Rashid was killed and his son sustained injuries when a house collapsed in Kochki area in Tangi.
DARGAI: A woman was injured in a house collapse incident in Ghani Dheri in Dargai. The woman was taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Dargai where she was stated to be out of danger.
NOWSHERA: Two minor boys sustained injuries as the roof of a house collapsed due to heavy rains in Nizampur here.
The roof of the house of Asr Aman collapsed in Shagai area due to heavy rain. As a result, his two minor sons Sudais and Ihrar Khan sustained injuries. The injured children were shifted to a local hospital. Meanwhile, the roof of the house of Sadiq Mehmood caved in at Nowshera Kalan. However, it caused no casualty.
