Why Nate Bargatze attended UFC event with Trump explained after backlash
Nate Bargatze's appearance at White House UFC event was not political
Nate Bargatze, America’s top-selling stand-up comedian, has left his fans disappointed by attending the UFC event on the White House’s South Lawn on Sunday.
Anti-Trump fans were surprised to spot him at the unprecedented cage-fighting spectacle in the White House.
A large number of fans criticized Nate Bargatze in the comments section of his last Instagram post.
"I’m just so incredibly disappointed," commented one fan.
A second said, "You are the company you keep!" A third said, "Man, bought my husband tickets and we’re supposed to go to your show in July in Vancouver. I feel icky about attending your show now."
However, a source close to him, said, "the comedian discussed his attendance with his team, knowing that the publicly apolitical comedian’s appearance would be interpreted as a political statement, but decided to attend anyway."
The source added that the appearance was “not political.”
Nate Bargatze, who is a massive UFC fan, attended Trump’s birthday party along with MAGA-friendly comedians Tony Hinchcliffe and Shane Gillis, adding himself as one of the few recognizable faces at the event, which several A-listers reportedly declined to attend.
