Nancy Guthrie case update: Youtuber arrested releases first major statement

The Nancy Guthrie abduction case has taken a significant step, as a YouTuber who was arrested outside her home is now responding to the charges against him.

The 54-year-old Alexander Zabel Jr. is facing legal charges following his arrest for interfering with police.

He disputes claims regarding his behaviour in the neighborhood and says he was invoking his constitutional rights.

Zabel said in a social media post: “I was there to exercise my First Amendment rights and keep public attention on a case that remains unsolved.”

“If law enforcement believed I was resisting arrest, the reality is that I was demanding to know why I was being arrested for something I did not believe I had done. I never swung at anyone. I never injured anyone,” he added.

It is pertinent to mention that the sheriff’s department received several complaints about Zabel’s behavior before his arrest. He has been charged in a separate case with one count of public nuisance and two counts of obstruction of a public highway.

Nancy Guthrie’s case remains unsolved; however, investigators are still waiting on lab results to ensure they identify the correct suspect.
