Why Taylor Swift's 'Toy Story 5' song caught Tom Hanks off guard?
Tom Hanks reprises his role as Woody in 'Toy Story 5'
Tom Hanks revealed that he was not aware of Taylor Swift's song in Toy Story 5, and he believed that the cast was kept in the dark on purpose.
As the 35-year-old pop singer contributed to the film's soundtrack by writing and singing I Knew It, I Knew You, Hanks, on the other hand, shared that he was shocked to know Swift recorded the song, as he and the rest of the cast found out about it the day the song was released.
Hank, who reprises his voice role as Woody in Toy Story 5, told E News that he thinks the franchise bosses didn't "trust" them.
"We did not know. We were told the day it came out as a matter of fact," Hank shared. "They said, 'Tonight at nine o'clock Taylor Swift is going to be dropping the song that ends our movie."
The 69-year-old actor and filmmaker went on to say, "I said, 'I've seen the movie. There was no Taylor Swift song.' They said, 'We know.'"
He remarked, "It was all this diabolical ... they don't trust us, and there is a brain trust that goes along that I am not a part of. So, I just do what I'm told."
Along with Hanks, other actors who are reprising their roles in the new film include Conan O'Brien as Smarty Pants, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Bad Bunny as Pizza with Sunglasses, Greta Lee as Lily Pad, and Alan Cumming as Evil Bullseye.
