Prince William, the Prince of Wales shared a heartfelt message honouring the legacy of late cancer campaigner Deborah James.

After a major fundraising milestone was reached in her name, Deborah's parents shared a video thanking supporters for helping continue their daughter's mission.

"We’re thrilled to announce that the Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK has just passed the £20m fundraising milestone!" the fundraising page revealed.

Adding, "The money raised so far is supporting amazing cancer research projects and lifesaving awareness raising, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has supported the fund since it launched in 2022 and is helping to continue Deborah’s legacy."

However, Prince William reshared the video message of Deborah's parents on Instagram Stories and penned a personal message.

He praised the achievement as "incredible" milestone, noting that the late cancer campaigner remains "in our thoughts."

The Prince of Wales' message read: "What an incredible milestone and an amazing legacy."

"Deborah is in our thoughts today, as are all those who loved her. W," it added further.

Deborah James, who received damehood from Prince William at her parental home passed away at the age of 40 on June 28, 2022 from cancer. 

In her final days, Deborah lived at her parents' house in Woking, Surrey.

Following her death, the fund was launched to support pioneering research and awareness initiatives through Cancer Research UK.
