“Serena Williams taking one for the team? She loses her Wimbledon comeback match the second rumors hit that Meghan Markle might show up to 'support' her,” wrote a social media user alongside a clip of Meghan’s 2019 appearance at Wimbledon. “

The user also claimed ”Meghan demands dozens of seats around her emptied for 'security.' Cameraman zooms tight to hide it, but photographers exposed the full scene. Narcissism on full display. Nobody wants a repeat.”

“Why would Wimbledon agree to this nonsense? Catherine must have been horrified,” said a user commenting on the clip.

“No way will she turn up anywhere. She won't be allowed to leave the airport. Wimbledon will not let her behave like that again anyway,” said another.

However, Observers believe the seats were not kept empty on Meghan Markle’s demand in 2019.

Meanwhile, Serena Williams showed flashes of brilliance before her much anticipated return to competitive action after a four-year absence fizzled out in a 6-3 6-7(6) 6-3 defeat to little-known Australian Maya Joint in the Wimbledon first round.

There were high hopes that the 44-year-old would become the oldest woman to win ‌a singles match at the All England Club since Martina Navratilova achieved the feat aged 47 in 2004, but Joint had other ideas.
