Robert Carradine final Instagram post masked deep pain before his shocking suicide
Robert Carradine's family, it seems, were aware of hidden struggles he was having after his brother's tragic incident
Robert Carradine, an actor known for several popular roles, shocked the world after he committed suicide, leaving family and fans in grief.
However, a look at his final post on Instagram did not betray a single sign that he was – from the inside – battling severe mental health problems.
In the last post, the late star shared an interview with Christopher Atkins, the star in the hit movie The Blue Lagoon, on his show Party Nerd Pop-Cast, which he co-hosted with Richard Gabai.
The frame shows all three men smiling, while a bright blue background puts attention on them.
“Christopher Atkins on The Blue Lagoon, Pirate Movie, Dallas, & More! EPISODE LINK IN BIO!” the post's caption read.
Despite these broad smiles, Carradine masked a deep pain that ultimately claimed his life.
His family, in an emotional manner, shared a statement, stating, “It is with profound sadness that we must share that our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and brother Robert Carradine has passed away. In a world that can feel so dark, Bobby was always a beacon of light to everyone around him."
The note recognized Carradine's mental health challenges. "We are bereft at the loss of this beautiful soul and want to acknowledge Bobby’s valiant struggle against his nearly two-decade battle with bipolar disorder."
"We hope his journey can shine a light and encourage addressing the stigma that attaches to mental illness. At this time we ask for the privacy to grieve this unfathomable loss. With gratitude for your understanding and compassion.”
Carradine was 71 when he killed himself.
