'Scream 7' makes franchise history with IMAX debut
Neve Campbell faces Ghostface again in 'Scream 7' trailer
The new trailer for Scream 7 was released on Monday along with a surprising announcement that the sequel will air footage during the Super Bowl on February 8.
The upcoming installment marks a major milestone for the long-running franchise, becoming the first Scream film to receive an IMAX theatrical release.
It is pertinent to mention that Scream 7 is set to hit theaters on February 27, 2026.
The new trailer shows a new Ghostface killer targeting Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell once again. The footage also features Sidney teaching her daughter, Tatum, played by Isabel May, the rules of survival she learned decades earlier.
Neve Campbell is also returning to the franchise following her absence in Scream VI (2023) due to salary disputes.
Furthermore, Courteney Cox is also back as a journalist, Gale Weathers, promising to finally "unmask" the killer.
Notably, Kevin Williamson, who wrote original Scream and several of its sequels also directs the seventh installment of the franchise.
On the other hand, returning members of the cast also include David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, Scott Foley, Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown. Meanwhile, the newcomers include Joel McHale, Anna Camp, Mckenna Grace and Mark Consuelos.
