Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nick Robertson left Monday night’s game against the Colorado Avalanche with a lower-body injury and did not return, the team announced.
The injury occurred early in the first period when Robertson blocked a shot from Avalanche defenceman Josh Manson.
According to reporting from Nick Alberga of The Leafs Nation, the 24-year-old winger was unable to put weight on his left foot as he was helped off the ice.
Robertson entered the game with 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points in 42 games this season. Now in his sixth NHL season and third as a full-time regular, he has recorded 42 goals and 36 assists for 78 points in 198 career regular-season games with Toronto.
He has also appeared in 13 Stanley Cup Playoff games, registering three points.
The former second-round pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft has spent parts of four seasons with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, where he posted 57 points in 60 games.
Prior to turning pro, Robertson played three seasons in the OHL with the Peterborough Petes, producing 174 points in 162 games.
Toronto entered Monday’s matchup with a 22-15-7 record, sitting sixth in the Atlantic Division and one point out of an Eastern Conference wild-card spot.
The Maple Leafs were riding a three-game winning streak and were 7-1-2 in their previous 10 games.
Following the game against Colorado, Toronto continues its road trip with games against Utah, Vegas, and Winnipeg.
