Meghan Markle reacts to brutal criticism over casual video
Meghan Markle frustrated after light-hearted cooking video sparks outrage
Meghan Markle has responded to backlash after a Thanksgiving cooking video she shared sparked online criticism over her kitchen hygiene.
The Duchess of Sussex had posted a light-hearted clip of herself preparing a turkey with bare hands and wearing jewelry, but the video went viral for all the wrong reasons.
Social media users started dragging Prince Harry’s wife for being the “worst kitchen hygiene,” saying, “the ‘domestic’ goddess is clueless.”
Sharing Meghan’s reaction, royal journalist Rob Shuter revealed she was “blindsided” by the intensity of the response, per OK! Magazine.
He said she didn't expect the world to “drag her over a turkey,” adding that the video was “supposed to be wholesome.”
The journalist noted that Meghan feels tired of being “criticized no matter what she does.”
Another insider revealed that Meghan is “humiliated and blindsided” since her video started getting backlash.
One comment on Reddit regarding Meghan's video read, “She has the worst kitchen hygiene. The ‘domestic’ goddess is clueless."
"The more she pretends to be a cook, the more fake she shows herself to be. Jewelry rubbing up against the meat, hair shedding and her grubby paws stroking the poor dead bird,” they added.
Another penned, “I don’t even put on my jewelry when applying makeup, and I remove them when cooking. Jewelry are known fomites for infections."
“I’ve cooked multiple turkeys and never put my hand in one like this ffs. She’s a blithering idiot in the kitchen."
