Elon Musk makes bold prediction about humanity’s future, poverty, money
‘Work will be optional in coming decades,’ Tesla CEO said
Elon Musk teases a bold prediction about humanity’s future driven by artificial intelligence and humanoid robots.
While talking at the US-Saudi Investment forum and accompanied by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Tesla CEO talked about how advanced AI models and robots will eliminate poverty, make everyone rich, and render money irrelevant, envisioning a major societal shift driven by automation.
In a bold prediction, Musk said, “maybe in 10 or 20 years or something like that, the work will be optional. There will be a universal high income. ”
According to the billionaire, working in the future will be more like playing video games, sports and growing vegetables at home.
The SpaceX owner went on saying that an AI-powered future will also make money irrelevant.
"There will still be constraints on power, electricity and mass. The fundamental physics elements will still be constraints. But I think at some point, currency becomes irrelevant,” Musk added.
He further shed light on the poverty and wealth inequality prevalent in today’s world. As per Musk’s observations, poverty is an engineering problem and AI and humanoid robots will actually eliminate poverty.
This means that people will have better access to everything from medical care that is superhuman to games that are far more fun that what exists today.
Musk explained, “Tesla won't be the only one that makes them. I think Tesla will pioneer this…But there is only basically one way to make everyone wealthy, and that is AI and robotics.”
