‘Bridgerton’ season 3 transforms ‘dandyish’ boy Colin into ‘confident man’
Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington's love story will take the center stage in Bridgerton season 3
Luke Newton’s character Colin Bridgerton in the Netflix series Bridgerton went under transformation to evolve as a mature and grown-up man for season three.
The streaming platform shared a behind-the-scenes featurette on Saturday, May 4, in which Jess Brownell, the showrunner, John Glaser, the costume designer, and show stars Nicola Coughlan and Newton shed light on Colin’s glow-up from the first season to the third.
"He feels like he’s matured, he feels like he’s grown-up, he feels like he is on a hunt for a purpose," Newton described his character, whose love story will take centre stage in the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, social media has already got a name for the new look. The showrunner of the series recalled, "I think the internet has dubbed Colin’s new look 'sexy pirate.'"
"It’s not too off from what we were intending," Brownell added with a hint of accomplishment.
In addition, the costume designer compared Colin's looks, saying, "Season 1 and Season 2, he was always, let's say, a 'Bridgerton Boy.' He was a little more dandyish."
"His confidence has changed," Glaser said, shedding light on Colin’s personality. "He's got this element of swagger to him now."
"He doesn't look like a boy anymore…He looks like a man!" he concluded.
As Newton’s character returns from his travels, Bridgerton season three will premiere on May 16, unfolding the love story of Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton.
