LAHORE
A division bench of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to ensure payment of recovered money to two affectees of Double Shah financial investment fraud within one month.
Sahibzada Nasir Ali and Nisar Ahmad stated in their petition that the NAB returned them Rs600,000 out of their approved claim of Rs10.1 million invested to Sibtul Hassan Gillani alias Double Shah.
They asked the court to order the bureau to return full claim of amount from the money recovered from Double Shah and his agents.
A recovery officer of the NAB told the bench that the process of returning money to affectees of the scam was still in progress. He said auction of some of the properties owned by Shah and his agents was stayed by different courts that hampered the process of recovering looted money from the fraudsters.
The bench directed the officer to return the approved claim of the petitioners within a month and submit compliance report to the court.
warrants: An Additional District and Sessions Court on Wednesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants of woman Nadira Begum alias Hina Khan an accused facing Qazaf charges.
The court has issued these orders as the accused has been avoiding appearance for many dates of hearings. Former Assistant Director FIA Gohar Sarfraz Qureshi had filed a petition before the court contending that Hina Khan had filed a complaint against him levelling allegations of committing gang-rape with her and her some female relatives hailed from Uzbekistan.
However, different officers of FIA conducted an inquiry into the matter during which Hina Khan admitted that he (Gohar Sarfraz) did not commit the offence with any lady.
He pleaded that the respondent woman in connivance with Sukhera intentionally publicised the fake incident of rape in media to tarnish his reputation despite the fact there was no evidence of the alleged crime. The complainant asked the court to punish the respondent under Qazaf Ordinance for imputation of false allegation. The judge directed the police to make sure the arrest of accused woman and produce her before the court by November 12 (today).
