Rs25 million allocated for PN Model School in Younisabad

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has approved a special grant of Rs25 million for the Pakistan Navy Education Trust to establish the PN Model School at the Khalid SRE in Younisabad, Karachi.
The grant was approved on Tuesday during a meeting between the chief minister and Karachi Commander Rear Admiral Farukh Ahmed at the CM House.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed the construction plan of the PN Model School, which would be built at a cost of Rs70 million.
The Karachi commander said the Pakistan Navy had also contributed considerable funds for the purpose.
He told the CM that the Pak Navy Education Trust was running five campuses, where 16,000 students were being taught. The chief minister said the education sector was at the top priority for his government. While approving the especial grant, the CM lauded the services of the Karachi commander and for establishing the model school.
Swedish envoy meets CM
Sweden Ambassador Ingrid Johansson called on CM Shah for discussing bilateral issues and investment opportunities in Sindh. The CM said that lucrative investment opportunities could be explored in Sindh by making the most of its vast wind and solar power corridors.
He said that China, Australia and some other countries had already started working on the Thar coalfield, keeping in view the colossal coals reserves over there. He added that the Sindh government was also working with the Engro Powergen to establish a coal-fired power plant.
The ambassador said she would discuss the opportunities in energy sector with her government and business community. She also discussed the heat stroke issues due to sweltering weather with the chief minister.
The chief minister apprised her about rapid response centres set up all over Karachi to deal with the cases. The chief minister also presented her a memento of the CM House and a traditional quilt.
Agha Siraj meets CM
During a meeting with the chief minister, Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durani discussed different issues, including the forthcoming budget session and security of the assembly.
The chief minister and the speaker also discussed party affairs, the ongoing organisation process and different development projects.
