PESHAWAR: The Federal Ministry of Human Rights in collaboration with Bacha Khan University, Charsadda, arranged a seminar on human rights education and sensitisation of students and staff of the university.
The objective was to give orientation to the university students and faculty members on human rights issues and initiatives taken by the government to protect human rights. Prof Dr Ghulam Qasim Marwat, chairman of Board of Technical Education, KP government, Peshawar, shared the evolution of human rights and sense of dignity of a man.
Prof Dr Fazal Rehim Khan, Vice Chancellor, Bacha Khan University, Charsadda, highlighted and appreciated the role of Ministry of Human Rights. Ghulam Ali, Director, Regional Directorate of Human Rights, Peshawar, urged the students and faculty members to undertake research on human rights-related issues with concrete recommendations for appropriate interventions.
He motivated the participants to refer victims of human rights violations through Toll Free Helpline (1099) for Legal Advice on Human Rights Violations.Robina Zafar, Muhammad Ibrar, and Naheed Ifran Khattak, highlighted the recent initiatives undertaken by the ministry keeping in view of the approval of action plan by the prime minister.
