CDA’s roadworks
By our correspondents
April 29, 2016
The CDA has ended its recent drive to completely carpet all double roads in the Markaz in the federal capital halfway. Except at F-6 Markaz, the authority did only a patchwork job – despite the fact that the condition of the entire road network in the area is deplorable.
The authority had cited ‘lack of funds’ for calling off its carpeting drive. This is strange given the fact that the government has been spending millions of rupees on maintaining the metro bus, but it has no money to maintain the infrastructure in Islamabad. It is needless to point out the condition of Islamabad Dry Port and IJP roads – the two roads on which driving is nothing short of a nightmare.
