Quality training for teachers stressed

Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed has said quality teachers training on modern professional standard is indispensable for educational development. 

He said this while addressing the concluding ceremony of three-day fourth international conference on “Education and Research”, through a video link, at University of Education. 

Dr Mukhtar said teachers were builders of a nation and agents for positives and constructive social changes. He said universities not only provided higher education but also proved a helping hand to maintain and strengthen social bonds among people. He stressed research culture at the universities and also emphasised that proper licensing mechanism for teaching jobs should be considered.

University of Education (UOE) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam said hundred percent results in teachers’ training was very important. He emphasised the role of higher educational institutes and stressed the participants to discuss and present a concrete solution to problems faced by the country’s education system.

VCs of various universities, directors and principals, national and international scholars, renowned educationists, thinkers, teachers and a large number of students attended the three-day conference.
