'Arsalan graft issue was a conspiracy'

LAHORE: Prominent lawyer and human rights activist Asma Jahangir said the Arsalan Iftikhar issue was a conspiracy hatched to threaten the judges, Geo News reported.

She was talking to reporters at the Lahore High Court. Asma said that the motive behind this was to wrap up the democratic setup and to threaten the judiciary, adding that those who created Tehrik-e-Insaf were the conspirators.

While expressing her displeasure over the selection of Raja Pervaiz Ashraf as the prime minister, she said a wrong message was conveyed to the nation as he was blamed for corruption in the rental power projects.

'If it was all about writing a letter, the court could have ordered the Attoney General or its Registrar Office to do that.' The destruction of one institution can trigger a chain reaction, she said.

This woman is losing her credibility with every passing minute. Perhaps in a country like Pakistan, you need such inflammable and controversial statements to stay in press. What a shame !

Ms. Asma just wants to be in the lime light no matter what that light is,mostly dim light. She needs to understand what the people of Pakistan are going thru and what they want from the govt.>>>>emloyment,no-inflation,Better health care,No corruption,Better Education and no-in-equalities.She is mostly silent on those as these issues are not part of her HRCP.

she knows she is not getting anything from the present government and now has said something in CJ's favour. A very clever woman. I wish she says something in Dr afia's favour.

Someone needs to refresh Asma Jahangir's memory here (like it needs refreshing!). The SC did tell the Atty General to write the letter, but he said in court that he does not have the permission to do that. CJ asked him, who was stopping him ?. He said it was the Law Minister (Babar Awan). The SC went around in circles, with Atty Generals being changed one-by-one. Finally, the PM sent word that no officer of his Govt will write that letter and the rest is history.

She has gone insane after her disgraceful exit from memo-gate. No one pays any attention to her stupid and out of context remarks. She finds the role of agencies in everything. She is conspiracy monger-er and trying to create confusion among public. Who cares for her nonsensical and stupid statements on media

So called prominent lawyer, Asma Jehangir's insinuation that ' those who created Tehrik e Insaf were the conspirators' is nothing but ridiculous. Through most of her career, she has appeared to tow some foreign powers' agenda in Pakistan, and now she seems to been launched against a formidable political force which could be a threat to those powers' agenda in Pakistan. We have to be aware of such unscrupulous elements and their vicious propaganda.
