Islamabad:More than 4,000 employees of Pakistan Bait-ul Mal have appealed to the government to release funds for payment of allowances which have not been paid to them since 2016 with their salaries.

Talking to this correspondent, a group of employees on condition of anonymity said that allowances which were announced by the government in the annual budget have not been included in their monthly salaries since 2016. They said that no increase has been made in their emoluments since last 22 months.

They said that they have made several demands for resolution of their problems but to no avail. Similarly, to get their genuine right, the employees recently lodged protest. However, on the assurance of the Bait-ul-Mal Managing Director Barrister Abid Waheed Sheikh, the protest was called off. According to the staff, the managing director had assured them of holding negotiations with the concerned quarters in the government for inclusion of allowances in their salaries.

They said if their issue is not resolved this month, they would launch a protest movement while boycotting their office work till the resolution of their grievances. The government should take steps to clear our dues in the salary for the month of April, they demanded.
