PESHAWAR: Martial arts champion Muhammad Taimur Javed, who has won silver medal for Pakistan in the South Asian Wushu Championship, is now eyeing gold in the Asian Wushu Championship scheduled to be held in October.
Taimur, a member of the Pakistan squad, clinched silver in the 45kg category in the South Asian Wushu Championship that concluded in March in Lahore.
Taimur has also won gold medal five times in the National Kyukushin Karate Championships. “Though Pakistan sports are facing a number of problems, however, the situation is improving with each passing day,” Taimur told ‘The News’.
He vowed to add on more gold in his medal tally during the National Wushu Championship starting in the last week of April.Taimur added that he was also preparing for the Asian Wushu Championship.“I am working hard to put in my best in the Asian event to win gold for the country,” he said.
