PTI condemns atrocities in Kashmir
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership has condemned killing of innocent Kashmiris in the held valley and demanded immediate dissolving of the Committee on Kashmir Affairs.
In a statement issued on Monday, Dr Yasmin Rashid, the party ticket holder from NA-120, Diwan Ghulam Mohiuddin, member of AJK Legislative Assembly and others voiced serious concern over the Indian atrocities in held Kashmir.
Dr Yasmin, while demanding immediate dismissal of the Committee on Kashmir Affairs, stated that its head Maulana Fazlur Rehman had caused a huge loss to Kashmir cause. She said the need of the hour was to form an effective committee which could bravely plead the case of Kashmiri brethren at international level.
After coming to power, she said the PTI would constitute a committee on Kashmir Affairs that would be capable of raising voice for our brethren combating Indian atrocities in held Kashmir. Meanwhile, at the residence of Diwan Ghulam Mohiuddin, the PTI and other political figures in a gathering slammed Modi government for perpetrating violence in Kashmir. They appealed party Chairman to give a call of observing Black Day against Indian cruelties in the held valley.
Addressing the media on the occasion, Diwan Ghulam Mohiuddin said that the need of hour was to resolve Kashmir issue through the United Nations resolutions. He said the rulers had failed miserably to fight the case of Kashmiris before the global community and their silence over Indian oppression was criminal. The news conference was also addressed by Ejaz Chaudhry, Raja Sher Zaman and others.
The PTI leadership also decided to stage demonstration against Indian brutality in Kashmir outside the Lahore Press Club today (Tuesday).
