DAGGAR: A landowner allegedly locked a school in Mena Koga village in protest against the government for not appointing his sons as class-IV.
Talking to reporters here on Thursday, the landowner, Muqarab Khan said that he donated two kanals of land for the construction of the Government Middle School in Mena Koga village in Buner district.
He said that five years ago the land was transferred for the construction of school and the then education minister Sardar Hussain Babak had promised to appoint two of his family members as class-IV.
He said that after the completion of the school building the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government ordered appointment of one of his family members and another person for the other post.
“I had no other choice but to lock the school,” he said.
Following the incident, the head teacher shifted the students to a nearby Government Primary School building and informed the district and provincial education authorities about the incident.
The tehsil councillor Umar Hayat along with the Additional Assistant Commissioner Baseer Ali Rehman Khan reached the spot and tried to convince the landowner, but to no avail.
