PESHAWAR: The Frontier Printers and Publishers Association, Peshawar chapter, Tuesday staged a protest against the levy of sales tax on books and new tender policy.
The participants of the protest rally were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against the sales tax and in favour of their demands.
The protesters gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club to stage the protest.
The speakers said that the printing industry had already suffered due to flawed polices of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board and corruption in the board.
They said that the imposition of sales tax has amplified the hardships of the owners of the industry.
Rejecting the new tender policy approved by the Textbook Board, they said that the new policy would create new ways of corruption for investors and corrupt officials of the board.
